Cash Withdrawals

Bank participation as both ATM Acquirer and Card Issuer, was initially mandated by
the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) for all Full Commercial Banks (FCBs) in Bahrain.

There are 310+ bank owned ATMs located in Bahrain, all of which are sharable by all banks’ customers.

Benefit is also a member in the GCC-wide, cross-border ATM sharing arrangement known as GCCNET. Under this arrangement we are connected to the other GCC states and all GCC ATM cardholders can use their cards at every ATM in the GCC. Bank participation is considered mandatory for this element of the service.

Benefit card holders can also withdraw money and do balance inquiry from ATMs located in Egypt , Lebanon and Jordan.

In Augest 2005 , Benefit established a link with the national switch of Islamic Republic of Iran , called "Shetab" , where cross-border ATM transactions are allowed between Benefit and Shetab.

In addition, American Express have chosen Benefit as their preferred switch partner in the GCC for the acceptance of AMEX cards at ATMs. Currently, all ATMs in Bahrain, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait and Oman will accept any AMEX cards at ATMs. All transactions are settled directly with AMEX by Benefit. All of the local banks opted to accept AMEX cards at their ATMs.
